1. LISTEN TO YOUR GAME MASTER

At Berlin Ohio's first escape room the game masters are always on your side. They want you to succeed and enjoy yourself in the room. It is important to listen to the story in the intro because often they will tell you something that may help you in the room

2. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR TEAM

If you are playing with people you do not know it is a good idea to get to know them. It is critical during the game that you communicate with your teammates. Call out what you find, what you solved and what you are looking for. Often precious minutes are wasted because of miscommunication.

3. DON’T GET DISCOURAGED

If the puzzles were easy it would be worth doing! It is important that during the hour in the room when if it ever feels like you hit a brick wall that you do no become dismayed by the mystery. Remember everything you need to know to escape will be in the room! You do not need any outside knowledge.

4.  DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR CLUE

Remember the game master is rooting for you! If you have communicated with your team and everyone feels stuck ask for a clue! Often a clue in the first 20 min to get the ball rolling will be more beneficial than trying to save you clues to the end.

5. HAVE FUN

The experience is meant to be a fully immersive game, so remember to have fun! Sometimes if you let the intensity get to you it can be easy to forget.
